Patrick

Santa

Wise Old Thumper
My beautiful boy Patrick went to the bridge today  I'd only had him since September last year, he arrived with unknown history and of unknown age. He was never particularly well, but he loved life. In his time with me he was diagnosed with an enlarged heart - which a specialist ultrasound revealed to be functioning fine, he had an ear polyp removed and he had slightly dubious liver function. He was fine this morning, jumping up and begging for food as normal, but when I went to see him this afternoon his breathing was very laboured. I rushed him straight to the vet and she said she thought he was in heart failure and that the prognosis was not good. We decided to try and get a conscious x-ray to compare it to the one taken late last year, but he passed away on the table :(

Patrick was one of those special bunnies who totally stole my heart. He would sit next to me and groom my face, and enjoyed cuddles and food right up until today. I'm only glad that I know he didn't suffer as he fell ill so quickly. It's all just such a shock.

Rest in peace my beautiful man, I didn't have you long, but I loved you to the moon and back.
