  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

"YYEESS".... no more injections:D OH is very relieved, he didnt like giving little Charlie an injection every morning... mind you though it never bothered Charlie:?. He is now on Zithromax 1mg every day for 10 days - (are all antibiotics 10 days?):?. Funny thing is, i think he would rather have the injection because he hates having a syringe stuck in his mouth:x .... i Know which i would rather have!

I hope the Zithromax will help him. The length of course of antibiotic treatment depends on exactly what is being treated and what response to treatment occurs :)

Ah good! I hope it works for him :D

Ten days is a good place to start, and I expect the vet will evaluate and decide whether to carry on :thumb:

Zithromax seems to be working YAY!!

Well, its day five now and so far today i have only heard Charlie sneeze once:D so really pleased about that, he has another five days left on his meds and he is seeing vet on Thursday. He is still pulling his fur out and eating it though (which i mentioned in another thread) the anti spot on which i treated him with on 6th doesnt seem to be doing anything so will mention it to the vet
