Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Milo - Last dose of Panacur tomorrow!

As the title reads, Milo (and Finn for precautionary measures) is on the last dose of Panacur tomorrow. He is basically back to his old self, but I do think he has a ever so slight head tilt that wouldn't be noticed by most, but I obviously can see something there that's different...

What I was wondering is, is there much chance of the EC affecting him again once he is not getting the Panacur any more? I have been regularly disinfecting the enclosure and I am going to do it tomorrow upon the last doses as well. What should I look out for and monitor?

I'm just more curious about how best to take care of a rabbit that has had EC and how to monitor them, I am regularly weighing both bunnies now, weekly at minimum usually. Milo is 2.14kg and is consistently that and Finn around 2.56kg (chunky fella!) I am also keeping fresh greens to an absolute minimum so as to not upset Milo's tummy, they get more dried herbs now than anything else, plus the odd fibafirst stick.

I'm just sort of wondering to myself how is best to keep my eye on him, obviously I will look for any symptoms similar to what he had before, like tilting or losing balance or head shaking/scanning...

Any tips on how to care for/monitor a rabbit that has had EC?

Also, because Milo has made a recovery, can we assume that it was EC that was affecting him? He never had an actual test for EC as his regular vet wasn't available and the emergency vet couldn't do a test for that at the time he went there?...
