Excessive shedding - Normal?

Over the past fortnight or so, Phoebs has been shedding a lot more & a lot, easier? than normal. Right at the bottom of his back & just around his hind legs you can pull out big clumps of it, and he's chewing it it seems. Is this his summer coat shedding or could it be something else?

Sounds normal to me. I also have the clumps you can pull out. Well one of my rabbits does  Depends on the breed ....

He's a Dwarf Lop. Is it worth giving him a brush to aid the shedding or is it better/different to wait? This is the first full summer I've had him!

Is there any evidence of flaky 'dandruff' on the skin and/or within the fur clumps ?

Is his rear end/under-carriage completely clean and dry ?

Yes mine is exactly the same breed, and I have the same issues!

I would certainly brush those bits out around the tail you mentioned, as they can get a bit matted. If he'll let you groom him, I would certainly give him a helping hand :D

Jimby is shedding like never before! Literally you could make another bunny from the fur I am plucking out!

1st point - He let me check him out this morning as he was calm for some reason & just curling into me. I couldn't see anything that was amiss. Just too much fur near the back!

I haven't turned him upside down since last week as he really hates it but I'll check tonight. He seems completely normal though, no signs that he's annoyed (except when I scoop him into his cage before I go to work!)

Great. I have a soft finger brush so I'll use that on him when I get in. Hopefully will speed things up as he's a very affectionate rabbit & we're going to bed at night with fluff on our heads!

Thanks all for the advice so far, will update when I get home!
