  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit Medicine and Surgery for Veterinary Nurses - Does anyone have this book?

Yeah. I'm not all that keen. It's written sort of like a Q&A, almost like a revision guide. I'm sure it's got some good information in it, but I find it quite hard to navigate and not all that user friendly. Are you going to go to Twigs' for the gardening day? If so I can try and find it (first challenge!) and bring it along so you can have a look.

Yeah I plan on going! I already have the BSAVA book which i find really good so I might pass on that one though.

Or maybe I'm getting them mixed up and it's a different one I have :oops: I definitely have one for veterinary nurses. I'll see if I can find it before I go shedding any more opinions!!

Nope. And not allowed any more books until I've read both Textbooks of Rabbit Medicine and done a comparison of the changes.

I have it and for a vet nurse perspective it's pretty basic and doesn't flow all that well really it has all the information in it though so I use it when I'm having an absolute memory blank at work Just to help get things clear it's a basic go to but the textbook in rabbit medicine is more detailed

It looks like it's an excellent book
