Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Neutering in Bristol?

Young Bun
Hello:wave:

I haven't got my rabbits yet, but does anybody know of a decent but fair priced vet in Bristol that spays/neuters rabbits - my local one wants £105

Cant help I am afraid but I have cross posted this thread in Rabbit Chat as more people are likely to see it there :)

i have experience with a number of different vets in bristol and i would only trust highcroft with my rabbits - i know that they are pricey but they are extremely good

is Gloucester to far, there is a good vet at Quedgeley. he charges £72.
if you have not already got your bunnies have you thought of going to the rescue centre, they will have already been neutered and injection all done for you.
also you could by a pair as bunnies love a pal. good luck.

I can also recommend Highcroft. The Whitchurch branch is large and has excellent facilities. Sonya Miles is their resident rabbit specialist vet and is fantastic!

Hi, I work at highcroft in Whitchurch!

And I can say we charge a bit more for a reason! The reason being, we use the best anaesthetics that is also the safest on the market, also the rabbits are intubated throughout the procudure so should something unfortunate happen, it is easier to bring them back again
The price includes two follow up appointments to check healing and give any advice and also medications. Many vets don't give painkillers after, rabbits NEED painkillers after.
We are also exotics vets, and the vets are specialists in their field, very important when it comes to rabbits ;)

Hope this helps

I can also vouch for Highcroft! They have been great with my ill bun! I've used a more local vet recently who were great, but for something like neutering or more I'd go to Highcroft every time.

thanks guys, I'll look into high croft. The bets near me are great with dogs and cats, but when I've taken my hamsters in they didn't seem so confident and was just putting them in general medication that didn't help. Thanks

Willows mum, how much is a male neuter or female spay?
