Keeping outside buns warm...

Lozzibear

Warren Scout
Now the weather is getting a bit colder I am worried about the buns being cold... or, more specifically, Juno in particular. Luna doesn't seem bother in slightest and positively loves being outside. Juno 'looks' a bit colder... are there any good ways to make sure they are warm?

I am going to get them a snugglesafe tomorrow, and for tonight I have moved their hideaway inside (it usually sits in the run) and I have filled it with hay (which I always do anyway) and jammed a blanket in the lid of it so it can keep the heat in a bit more.

I am seriously considering bringing them inside but I have a single bun in the house so I would struggle with somewhere to keep them away from her and provide enough space for them. So ideally, I would like to keep them outside and find ways to keep them warm but if need be, I will have to bring them in... although, I think Luna might be annoyed by that... I would like it though

I think so long as their living accommodation is dry and they have each other to snuggle up with, and a cosy place to go they should be fine. A snugglesafe is a good idea. If Juno looks as if he is cold, it could be that he might benefit from a vet check to see if everything is ok with him, and that he isn't harbouring something or got a bit of a spur needing a dental or something.

Definitely force them to stay somewhere out of the wind and weather, I don't think they have the natural instincts to go into a hutch shelter area. And make sure the shelter area is draft proof.

Snugglesafes wont last long outside but you can use them if you want. You can insulate the hutch with a variety of products, polystyrene, foil back bubble wrap, polycarbonate sheets (twinwall) and other specialist products.
