  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Off to the vet with Moley again.

Thanks all, the vet asked me if I was happy with the treatment rather then telling me, but it seemed like the best solution, my only niggle was if I could do any damage to him giving him Baytril if nothing was infected?
Anyway Moley is doing much much better back to his old self again, no twitching or eating to oneside he is also holding his ear up normally.... I swear he just likes to scare me  or make me look like a crazy bunny hypercondriac.

No, a single course of Baytril will do no harm, even if it's not needed. I hope he's much better soon :D

I've been thinking about Moley lately & wondering how he was doing. Sorry to hear about his strange episode, perhaps something was in his ear but it came out before he saw the vet & it was still a bit irritated? Glad he seems better now though. he's such a handsome bunny

Thanks Clare for thinking of Moley :). He is doing fine now he had a Christmas carrot and I am his best friend again. He doesn't seem to be showing any more symptoms, I hope that it was just a small irritant....

Thanks everyone else for your comments too, good to know about the Baytril.

He often sits in the doorway looking at me with expectation of food or saying what do you want then?? he is so cheeky

Weedug I hope Bailey is continuing to feel better, I keep up with his thread everyday, thank you for taking the time to ask about Moles.
