Share your rabbit palace x

No pics (because I have about 700 on my tablet and dont know how to take just a few off so end up over loading my laptop) but;

The quad (Frosty, Snowflake, Tessie and Daisy) have a 10 x 6 shed with a 10 x 6 walk in run attached 24/7.

Mottle and Peaches have a 10 x 6 run containing a 6 x 3 hutch.

Autumn and Sunshine (not in sig.) have a 10 x 6 run with a 6 x 2 hutch which (unlike M and P's hutch) is short enough for them to sit on top of. They like to go under it too.

The quad also have a 6 x 3 hutch inside the shed which they jump onto using a small 5 foot hutch that I was given. Their big hutch is open fronted and contains two litter trays.

Each rabbit has a large litter tray filled with newspaper and hay.

It was all second hand or home made, and cost well below £200 (I have a feeling it was closer to £100).

This is actually my third housing, you'll soon find housing becomes a constant work in progress for us bunny owners!
First I had a small coop type hutch which I soon realised wasn't big enough.
I replaced it with a larger coop type hutch which was much better but still not quite enough so a while later we made a run and added it on which meant it met the RSPCA/RWAF minimum housing recommendations and I was quite happy with the amount of space they had.
Then I found this forum and saw what great housing a shed would make. Very shortly afterwards I got my shed and it's amazing. They have lots of space and it's a nice (dry!) place for me to be when I clean them out and spend time with them.

I've found by far the greatest expense is on the insulation materials and roofing felt! The (secondhand) playhouse itself was cheap, and I've managed to scrounge most of the repair materials needed! Some good thinking when the builders were reroofing MY house :D

My two free range but this is their corner in the dining room. They have their kennel with blankets and teddies in although Pippa seems to prefer climbing on top. I have an underbed storage box as a litter tray. The cupboard has all of their bits and bobs in. And then there is the gorgeous door mat I fell in love with in b&q with their food and water bowls on.

Eta...they do normally have more hay than that. I just snapped this as I was filling up [emoji15]

Flo's old hutch and run:
:O Flo's old hutch looks very similar (although not quite the same) as Lopsy's current. soon-to-be old hutch! Have you kept it and use it as another space? I'll be doing that with mine but then mine's in pretty good nick.

Yes I have kept it, only used it for about 2 months! She decided it was too small and started to dig underneath it to 'expand' her house  That's why I got her a bigger hutch with more indoor living space!
Considering getting her a boyfriend so may use it for another rabbit...but otherwise it is no longer in use.

I love your set up . Do you mind me asking what size it is ? It looks lovely and generous xx

Hi sorry I completely lost this thread for a bit, its just over 6ftx5ft each way. It provides plenty of space but I do with the OH would let me have a tunnel to outside as well. Maybe one day

Oh, I love them all!

Forest and Ferni's Winter Home.

The shed is new, taken a lot of work recently, and cost, but they love it.

Their Winter run on concrete with decking panels underfoot to let rain drain away underneath.
Run is double wired ( chicken wire not fox proof, my Oh made it for me as a surprise gift last year) but rather than dismantle a good, sturdy, heavy set run, we over-wired it from the outside. with 'heavy duty plastic carpet protector' in between. it doesn't flap or leak, is a good insulator too.

Their Summer grass run..which is still just off the decking from our back door. The whole set up is positioned just outside our back door, and on nice days we play 'free range time with decking and grass run'. On moody weather days they just have their shed and winter run.

That isn't their current shed, on this photo, by the way, their new one is about 20 ft away.. tis difficult to get perspectives from photos.

BigBunnyBenji, I love your set up! I'd love something like that for my two!

Oh thank you.

It's not as pretty as some of the others, and my runs have bits cut out of them from previous cat flaps when I had a playhouse. It's a bit messy looking, but they have a lot of space! I'm not good at building and DIY like a lot of other people here. My Grandad did pretty much all the building for me, the main thing I did was the carpeting and adding the extra shelf.

I will get round to painting it one day!

This is how charlie and lola's shed is now (except, they have spread hay everywhere now ) I moved the trofast back as I think the space is better used then.
