Wilfie
New Kit
Oh dear can you tell I'm nervous?
My name is Jill, but Wilfie the bunny (I collect cuddly ones) is my online representative.
I am a lifelong rabbit-lover. I have been lucky enough to keep two gorgeous buns, Bugs and Boris. They were both Dutch rabbits. Bugs lived to a very ripe old age and scared the bewotsits out of every other animal who ever crossed his path, including our poor old dog Patch.
Boris was a wonderful sweet-natured rabbit who lived part-time in our house and part-time outside. Unfortunately he became bored with our small garden, escaped and got run over on the road outside.
Since then I have been lucky enough to share my life with dogs and cats but no more rabbits, as I have a problem with the confinement of hutches and circumstances have not been right.
However I now have a large garden, and an outbuilding that could provide shelter for hutches. I'm thinking of getting a couple of rabbits, sisters perhaps? Any combination that would get on well. I would want to provide a large run and also bring them into the house frequently, but they couldn't live indoors full-time. Both Bugs and Boris lived with guinea-pig companions. Both they and the guinea pigs seemed happy and healthy but I think this mix of species is frowned upon now.
Any advice about my next rabbit journey would be wonderful. I miss them!
