  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Got up this morning to find Penelope tooth grinding, not eating, not drinking and irritated with her left ear. I want to take her to the vet today but we have just moved to a new place and are not registered with the vet yet. What is the name of that really good vet in North London?

What part of North London are you, East or West?.... There was Guy Carter at Medivet in Watford, but he may not be still working there.

There was one in north London - I think the woman there did lots of behavioural stuff for rabbits too...

I'll try Medivet in Watford...

Sorry, I don't know of any female Vets in North London. Mine used to be but, she's working out Barking way now I think. My current one is very good if your over this side, but he only works every alternate Saturday afternoon.

There is a good bunny vet at Elstree/Borehamwood Medivet as he sometimes comes to Kingsbury. Hope things went ok at Hendon, I've personally had some issues with some of the vets but one of the older guys there is great, and sometimes my vet David goes there from Kingsbury and he's very good with my bunnies
