Pooing/weeing in the run.

When I got my bunnies they learned fairly quickly how to use the litter tray and have never had problems. I recently put their runs on the grass so they could have a nibble and they decided it made a good place to do their business. I had to move the runs back onto the concrete as they both had a tendency to dig on the grass and ever since neither use the litter tray and instead use the ground. Faith uses her litter tray as a toy hurling it across the hutch on a night and shreds the newspaper.

I've tried putting fresh poos into the toilet area in both hutches but neither will attempt to use them.

I don't mind so much as it's fairly easy for me to clean up but my two youngest like to come outside to see them and I'd hate for either of them to pick any stray poos up and try to eat them (which knowing my 18 month old he would lol).

Any other suggestions on how to train them into using their litter trays again? X

They're marking their territory and until they're spayed it probably won't stop I'm afraid. Some buns prefer to hold it and do it outside

Yeah, nearly everywhere is a toilet before spaying! My outdoor girl was really good with her litter tray with wees but she would poo everywhere. She only poo'd 100% in her litter tray a few weeks after her spay.

For the run I bought a hooded litter tray so the hay would stay dry but you could always put a normal cat litter tray in a bin laying on its side.

Ah I see that makes sense :) I did try putting the litter trays in their run but they ignore them and poo in the opposite corner. You don't realise just how clever rabbits actually are until you own one yourself lol.
