We also got a 4 new bunnies from Wroclaw.One of the bunnie stayed with Mrs.Ania ( she also taking care of our sweet Dumka Today four of them are going to see the Doctor but the one who stayed in Wroclam has a runny nose.Hoping those 4 little ones will not get any cold.

Also when we celebrate the 5th Open Day at the Rescue we got the phone call about the bunnie which was found near Torun.After about an hour and a half the bunnie was with us Probobaly he escape the backyard breeding - at the same time giving himself the chance for normal and loving life

In Gaia urine we notice the blood spots but the last USG did not show anything that could answer the question her medical situation.Maybe this time will be different.

Today Kokardka lost her fight she came to the rescue week and a half ago with four other bunnies from Wroclaw.In the morning her breathing was not wright.We gave her furosemidum and start our trip to the Doctor.From the beginning we thought this is pulmonary edema but after doing puncture we figure that liquid is not collecting in pleura but in lungs Even than we didn't know yet that our fight will be lost no matter what.It was shocking to us what is happening because on Sunday Kokardka was doing fine.Her appetite was great and her droopings were normal.When we thought it's over - after giving her adrenaline she was stable. After an hour it looks like she is getting better.She was more calm,her breathing was better and heart was biting faster.Then another crisis came and we lost Kokardka
After the autopsy results we were shocked but on the other hand we got some release because we know that there was nothing we could do to save her life.She was just 3,4 months old and her death was sudden.That is why we decide to do autopsy to have idea what happen to her.Kokardka and her siblings were among bunnie with nose infection (runny nose with pus) that is why we give all of them lydium - (medicine for there immune system ) but even then we had no idea that there is nothing we can do to save her little life Her left lung was completely destroyed buy pus.On her right lung you could see little pus cavities.That was the process in her body which start couple weeks ago but nobody could knew about it.Her untreated infection probably right away concentrated in the lower respiratory tract.From Saturday night and Sunday morning she experienced a collapse.But her body did not fight.Most of the time when we are dealing with pneumonitis fever occurred but in Kokarda case her body temperature was lower her immune system was not fighting at all.

I don't really know where to start so much hapoened in the last couple of hours.But I will start from the beginning.Couple days ago we got information about rabbits kept in terrible conditions.Right away we notified Animal Emergency Service which yesterday performed rabbit rescue intervention (they drove 500 km) to help those poor bunnies They rescued 23 of them from the appaling conditions ( like you can see on the picture below ).We had only a couple of hours to make space for 23 new bunnies in our Sanctuary.We also want to say thank you to everyone who took some of the bunnies to foster them in their homes like for example: Ciecierzynka – by Ms.Małgosia from Toruń, Ernest – by Ms. Małgosa from Bydgoszcz, Ingrid – by Ola from Bydgoszcz, Kokilka - by Beata and Rafał from uszatkowo pet szkop, and also Viola -by Agata from Bydgoszcz.After locating all of the new bunnies we had only one and a half hour to prepare all of the bunnies for the trip to see the vet.Trust me we are very good with planning but things are not always going our way.When I was leaving I got the phone call from Ola that we need a transport from Torun to Kikol community. While I was driving there I still didn't know what to expect.After my arrival, it turned out that after Animal Emergency Service was passing by the Warsaw they stopped by at the place where not that long ago was very big animal intervention where several dozen dogs were rescued.To their surprise, the owner has just got new animals (By the court he was forbidden to have any animal whatsoever) .This time among the animals they also found rabbits (3 older bunnies,61,from 5-2 weeks baby bunnies and one 4 weeks old baby (((((

Six small bunnies were found hunched beside the kennel.The rest of the bunnies were in shock running frantically around the kennel.They were sitting in the mud and droppings.Among theme we found one already dead baby bunnie (he still travel with us to Torun for examination )The police was present there as well to take a picture and take care of the paper work necessary for the court.With all the bunnies we headed to Torun.The 26 bunnies were already at the vet but I was bringing the rest.When I get there the bunnies from the intervention from Gorzow were already examined by the vet (we have two litter of young bunnies ) after checkup were also Kordonek and Paprotka.But that was just a beginning for us. Totally we brought 36 bunnies - trust me I was not sure If we will be able to check all of them but we made it.We also decided with our vet what we will do next and what is the plan.Unfortunately the list of illnesses is very long.The couple bunnies from the Gorzow intervention is suffering from syphilis.Some of the bunnies are underweight and some little bunnies are very underweight.Some of the bunnies are overweight (you can feel the liver).Plus all of them having lice.Also bunnies with overgrown nails and bunnies with torn nails.Their fur is in the terrible condition and we don't even wanna think what the droppings exam will show.At the moment we give all the bunnies penicillin plus we need to start giving them also lydium (for their immunity system).The bunnies taken from places like that are very vulnerable for any infections (specially the little bunnies).One bunnie is in the really bad condition Very weak,underweight,suffer from flatulence and his body temperature is low.That's why yesterday we start giving him antibiotic.We are suspecting coccidiosis.Today he is feeling little bit better but yesterday when I was driving with him from the Rescue to my house I thought he gave up.I must say he is a fighter but situation is not stable yet.

The rest of his siblings is also underweight and also suffer from flatulence.But overall they are in the better condition.The one of the bunnies remind us Lubczyk the bunnie from the intervention in Mosina.The bunnie is so thin with old leg fracture and advanced pododermatitis.But with amazing force of life.She love her new place - plus hay and herbs

Do you remember Alva and Elfi? They were very young when they came to the Sanctuary. Alva was found in a waste bin, together with her siblings. She was the only one to make it. Elfi was given up by a pet shop (https://www.facebook.com/rabbits.to...3928564695688/979256848829519/?type=3&theater). Unfortunately, they still have health problems - Alva's intestines are very prone to accumulating gases and fluids and Elfi has recurring issues with the upper respiratory tract.
Magda has been taking care of both of them and she's doing a great job, don't you think?

Ameli is really a wonderful bunny. He is currently living with Ola because he needs constant care. When Ola appears in the room, Ameli starts running around, jumbing on her lap. You would normally think that he is begging for food but he doesn't eat anything apart from rodi care, raisins and...ossopan (yes, he loves his pills that serve to strenghten his bones).

The open day looked great.It looks like everyone had fun.

The conditions those poor poor bunnies were living in-well there aren't any words to describe themHorrific, and I think the worst Ive ever seen.I just couldn't believe my eyes.Thank goodness they are now safe and will experience clean living conditions,good food and medical care and attention and most of all love.

Hello everybody just wanna to update all of you how some of the bunnies from two interventions are doing.
For example Kukulka - you can see picture of her Before and After still fighting with cough.But we start antibiotic so let's hope that will help. Her fur is still in the bad condition She is very nervous and territorial.There is still milk in her nipples and hormones are kicking in But her apettite is good.Most important she is safe !!!

Do you remember Sokrates? Unfortunately he is still not doing so good After the blood test we know that he is having problem with his liver.His appetite is very low and he is having problem with passing urine.His kidneys are producing urine but hi is urinating once daily We are thinking that this can be under psychological basis.I notice that he is only eating when nobody is close to him.When human is close he is sitting still.His eye also looking not so good But after monday his eye RTG and abdominal cavitY USG we will know more.

Just wanna to start that Orinoko is a special need bunny.As you can see on the picture her right back leg was broken in the past and was never treated.Her movement is not natural like in the normal bunnies but she is brave bunny.She is also very gentle,calm and trusting.Her appetite is good and droppings are normal.We are hoping that in the couple next days she will gain some weight,her fur will be shiny and pododermatitis healed.
