these are a few of the photos I took in the past week, I've still got to upload mums photos which I'll add later :thumb:

On Monday we went to the York Chocolate Story which was fantastic, we learnt about the history of some of the chocolate manufacturers (and lots of samples mmm) then we made our own chocolate lollies and watched a demonstration which was very impressive!

Thursday we went to The Eden Camp, Yorkshire Lavender and a pub called The Tanglewood which had an amazing gluten free menu

there were 24 or so huts like this at the camp which have all been turned in to small museums about various parts of WW2 and one hut about WW1

Looks lovely
I need to start having more UK holidays, it's amazing what's in our own country we don't know about
Chocolate factory looks great :)

Great thread. Thank you. Its like having a mini break seeing all those pics. I loved the fire dogs!!!

it was a fantastic break, we probably did more than we would have done if we went abroad as it was so easy for us to get around. I do love staycations and we had nice weather all week too :thumb:

beautiful pictures, and the fire dogs made me laugh! North Yorkshire is such a wonderful area, We went on holiday for 2 weeks a couple of years back and there was still loads of stuff we didn't see!

Did you know there is a cat trail around York where you can find all the hidden cat statues?

Looks as though you saw and did lots :D

Those weird Sea Lifers  Especially the flat fishy with blue spots, I think I should send vibes to him as he obviously has a nasty rash !!

loads and loads Jane! The Brewery was an hour away from where we stayed and probably 3-4 hours away from my home town, while I was waiting to go for the tour I saw a lady walk past and did a double take as she looked like a friend of mine and then I saw her husband  some how, despite not knowing we were both on holiday and staying an hour apart from each other we had booked to go on the tour after their tour  out of the 4 tours they do over the course of the day we managed to bump in to each other it was so strange

He does look like he's got some sort of tropical disease

couple more..... 16 years ago we visited this SEA Life Center, last time we went we got to feed the rays and I held a star fish which I promptly threw back in to the pool because it felt funny  clearly they learnt from that lesson and now keep the star fish in here so it doesn't get hurt (they have multiple star fish, only one is kept in there at a time and after the day has finished they put it back in the main pool without the tub)
