Rescues, re- introduce yourselves.

Starlight Trust

My name is Sarah and, along with my husband Dave, I run the Starlight Trust. We started as a rescue but we have also been doing some online and educational work currently on wildlife rescue (our wildlife advice site is www.helpwildlife.co.uk) and we are working on something similar for small pets.

Rescue wise we take in rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, degus and chinchillas as well as the occasional pigeon or hedgehog. We don't currently take rabbits though I would very much like to if we can make some space. We aim to find our animals new homes (and we are very fussy!) but also offer permanent sanctuary to those who need it. We only euthanase if our specialist vet can convince us there is no hope!

We are only small, caring for up to about 30 animals at a time. Donations are pretty hard to come by for such undervalued animals so we fund most of the work ourselves. We are based in Wallington, Surrey and operate out of our home. It's mostly just the two of us though we have a couple of helpers such as Sarah who helps with listing our animals needing homes and who pointed me in the direction of this thread : )

Bunny Burrows Small Animal Rescue (1090006)

Bunny Burrows is a small animal charity which is run from the home of Gwen Butler in North Yorkshire, England.

They rescue unwanted rabbits and guinea pigs with the aim to rehome, after a thorough health check, those who are fit enough and foster out to experienced carers, those who are not.

Bunny Burrow's aims is to educate people on the welfare and well being of these small animals.

I know many know Gwen and the belated John Butler and many have gave/give to BB (so hope you don't mind me adding this. I absolutely love this lady to bits and if you look through you will see my threads about my belated bunnies Winston and Angel, Angel was from BB and she was giving a chance. Angel was the 2nd known bunny in England to have a tummy tuck thanks to BB. (BB is on here I know so may have just missed this thread)
I still do fundraising for them even publishing a book to help get their name out all because I appreciate everything she does for the animals. If you like e-bay you will find Gwen now raising funds via this (something she never thought she would do having never used a computer before, otherwise you will find her and the long term pets out and about either at local shopping carparks doing tombolas, local scouts educating children or local aged homes as Gwen would hate a life without animals and feels this would help the community.) She really cant do enough to help the animals (and that is clear for all to see)that cross her path and they will tell you that she is the kindest lady they have met!

Camp Nibble (reg. charity no. 1137407)

Hi Everyone

Sorry we missed this thread

Camp Nibble is a rabbit and rodent rescue charity run by us (Hannah and Stephen) from our own home in Leeds, and the homes of our trusted fosterers. The shelter is run on an entirely voluntary basis with no paid employees.
We are passionate about animal welfare in general. However, rabbit welfare has become the focus of Camp Nibble as a charity. This is simply because in the UK rabbits have been identified as the most neglected and cruelly treated pet and are in desperate need of rescue support. Along side helping rabbits we also try and help rodents, turtles, tortoises and some bird species wherever possible.
We are always full and have capacity for around 70ish rescue animals at a time. Usually at least 50 of these are rabbits.

You might like to see our latest campaign video 'Something has to change' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ub6C0xRlRI8

If you'd like to find out more about us please visit our website http://campnibble.com

Many thanks
Hannah x

The Rabbit Crossing

Hi, I'm Helen and run a very small back garden rescue from my home in Surrey on the Hampshire/Berkshire borders.

I take in small numbers of rabbits and rehabilitate where necessary and possible, and then rehome. All rabbits are neutered and vaccinated before leaving for new homes.

I only rehome locally so that I can do physical homechecking myself and can offer support to the adoptive carers post adoption.

I also run some boarding which is what pays for the care of the rabbits on site. Currently I am caring for nearly 50 bunnies.

I don't have a website, only a holding page, but use Rabbitrehome to advertise some of the bunnies needing homes, but also have a Facebook page which is a very active place with many members from around the world.

I have no idea how to post. Please help fellow bunny lovers.

Hi there,
I am currently a bunny foster parent for Camp Nibble, a rabbit and rodent rescue charity in Leeds. I've been writing a blog about the bunnies I foster, basically so that people can see how wonderful they are and consider rehoming them. (Especially those who may be harder to rehome due to their looks or age or health issues etc :( )

All of the bunnies mentioned on my blog so far are still available for adoption. I haven't yet gotten a reply from the boss people on this website about posting on rehoming forum section! So starting here for now as I don't know how to post properly!

If anyone has any questions about the bunnies on the blog, I will be happy to answer them either on a new thread once I know how to post or by private message.

Please help me if you can! I'm probably being really stupid and the post button is really obvious?! I'll get off of this thread after haha!

Happy Bunday :)

I was never ment to be a rescue

Hi all,

After visiting and helping out the wonderful Alice at wind whistle warren I moved up to Gloucester. I now keep an eye on all the free to a good home adds on gumtree and offer adivce when I get replies like do you want it or not I do act as fear of snake food/dog bait. I have taken in some shocking case - guinea pig kept in a tiny hamster cage :( rabbits with nasy ear mites. I always try to take the hutchs and tip them. All rabbits that pass via me are neutred and vaccantied and I home check. I have 6 rabbits in and 1 piggie. The female I have just taken in is a polish/Rex her feet are raw she is 99% preggers has bladder sulge and has a sore tail. Vets tomorrow. X I fund it all myself. And I have 8 of my own xx

Are there any more of you out there?

I currently have an opening for a single, neutered and unbonded female bun between the ages of 6 months up to 2/3 years, and would love to hear from you.

I've gone through pages and pages of Google but nothing suitable has caught our eye.

Please post links to your websites!

I don't know of any, but that doesn't mean to say that there aren't any.

If you want to find out......perhaps start a thread in the Rabbit Chat section.

Best of luck.
