Plum Trees

I feel they are safe, as after all they are just a cultivated blackthorn type, BUT I have not fed any as I don't have any plum trees near me.
Not much help there am I?

ours eat the fallen leaves from the wild plum and ornamental cherry around here with no ill consequences.

I know thats only anecdotal but really I would not worry. On the other hand I would not go out and collect them to feed - mine are so fussy (pampered!!) that they turn up their nose at pear leaves - preferring apple and willow.
