New Fab looking Hutch and run company!

Guys can we stop arguing and focus on the fact that we have a lovely retailer here that is actually willing to listen and take on board comments? That is a rare occurence so I suggest we make the most of it.

Whether or not rabbits can be kept in 5ft hutches, other animals like guinea pigs can, so having them on the website is a good thing :)

First of all, I LOVE the hutches with the run underneath, because the front panel completely comes off. I havent seen a product like that before, and it would mean that it would attach to a bigger run with one of the panels taken off really easily, and not restrict running space like one with a small pop-hole to a bigger run would. Brilliant design.

I also like the fact that the doors on your hutches mean that the whole of the hutch is accessible for cleaning, there are no annoying panels that you cant open.

I have a suggestion though, and that would be that you make the hole the buns go down a little bigger. This will take away more room in the hutch but should allow bigger rabbits to get up and down easier.

I also think the postage is a bit steep - now I know that it probably costs that or more to send, but it might be worth putting a portion of that postage price into the price of the hutch, so that your postage costs are more in line with other retailers. Same cost to the customer, just looks a bit better.

When you get around to putting other products up, I'd make sure you have a hutch and run combo or two on there, as this is what most people seem to have :)

I think they are all fantastic hutches, at really good prices.

Very well put!!!

I LOVE the welfare hutch 3ft high runs, in fact I may well be buying one in the very near future, the design looks great and I love the door to get in :thumb:

Actually I've been meaning to ask them about it, it says they are out of stock :( assuming they are made to order and I can still get one???

But I'd only be able to get the 6x4 as it needs to fit on my patio to be connected to the shed, so it isn't the 'minimum' 8x4 so despite the fact my 2 will have 48sq ft between them I bet some people will still say I need a bigger run

I personally do not think that a 5ft hutch is that bad. It is bigger than the majority of rabbits hutches on sale.

I would have thought a small breed of rabbit e.g Netherland Dwarf would be happy enough in that if it got daily run time.

I personally would have to agree.

There is a lot of self righteous rubbish posted on here at times.

Not everyone has room for a massive hutch or shed.....a small garden or yard limits the size of hutch and run possible. As long as the bun has adequate free time....either in the house or outside.....a decent 5ft hutch.....like the one this new company is making....... is perfectly adequate for a normal sized rabbit for someone who cannot accommodate anything larger.

Better a clean, well fed socialised rabbit in a 5ft hutch than one with a 'minimum 6ft hutch and 8ft run' that is thrown its food and rarely cleaned out and never sees a human other than food throwing time.

My bun lives in a 5ft Ryedale double hutch. She is well fed, clean, loved and gets plenty of free time. Most of the time she's in her hutch she's dozing and this is even sometimes at times when she's free to explore my small garden.

The attitude on here of 'if it's not the declared size, then you shouldn't have a rabbit', makes my blood boil.

Sizes are for guidance........and that's good compared to the tiny hutches we used to keep rabbits in...... but it's not law and there has to be flexibility for different situations.

Best comment I've read in this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5ft allows a rabbit to move around and if it's a double hutch, run up and down and around. Add to that a run.........mine is 5ftx 4ft......so I suppose I'll be pilloried for that.............and additional free run time is fine by me and my bunny.

No-one is suggesting putting a rabbit in a 5ft hutch and leaving it there 24hours a day
People who have replied to this thread with smaller than the RWAF recommended size of 6ft also have runs and free range on offer.

Really, from your post 'Lily' it would seem that in order to join in this forum a person has to agree with all recommendations.
How elitist.....how narrow minded.

People join the forum to discuss or read about many rabbit related topics and as far as I am aware there is no rule that says members must first agree and conform with any particular aspect of rabbit care.

We can ALL learn from each other no matter what size hutch our rabbits live in.

There are a lot of young people on here who have to be content with the hutch that their parents buy. They know all the recommended sizes but will not have the wherewithall to make changes. Please don't make them feel inadequate or a bad owner.

Agree - couldn't put it any better myself and well said!!!

I had forgotten about this thread. Was lovely being called elitist :D

Not so sure about the narrow minded bit though :?
