  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Dorothy making a nest

pinkyblare

Alpha Buck
i have 4 bunnies two girls poppy and daisy whom live in one shed they are recovering from their spay on tues, we also have toto (boy neutered) whom is bonded with Dorothy unpsayed in wendy house, she has started to make a nest from hay and fur is this normal, there is no chance she can be preg cause we had toto done last year, i am wanting to bond all 4 this summer will i be able to with her unspayed or do i need her spayed also for it to be a success any help appeciated

thanks:wave:

She is behaving like a normal hormonal entire Doe

I would get her spayed which will improve her quality of life, protect her from Uterine Cancer and infections and also make bonding her into a quad more likely to be successful.

i thought it was hormones she following toto round like lost lamb wont leave his side i will get her booked in then i think when i go friday with the girls how long before i should attempt to bond post spay?

My vet says when she has had her stitches out but some people advise waiting for about six weeks in order for the hormones to calm down.
