I collect my puppy today :)

Awww, yay, so exciting!!!:love:
Only you know what is right, I don't think anyone has the right to tell you you are wrong!

Can't wait to see lots and lots of your amazing pictures once she is home and settled in! She's certainly landed on her paws finding you, lucky pup!:love::love:

Thanks. I think its good to give her a home. I wouldn't have been able to get any dog, like pay for one from a breeder, so soon. But I think having a rescue pup is nothing to feel guilty about, and Maddy would have been happy I gave another dog a home :)

Congratulations on offering a rescue pup a home :D

I know how much you love sighthounds so thought you might like to see a pic of our new Lurcher Pup (also from a rescue) - she is 10 weeks old and is a Whippet/Greyhound/Collie mix. Her name is Aoife (pronounced Efa):

She's beautiful. I like to think that when we find something new after a great loss, it was brought to us by who we lost. Maybe Maddy sent her for you, because she knew you would provide this puppy with the best home a pup could ask for xoxo

Awww. She looks like she will haqve fallen on all four with you.
Erin :shock::shock::shock::shock:
I think I may have to come and puppy nap her :love::love::love::love:

She is gorgeous. I think I saw her litter on Lurcher Link? Aoife is a lovely name too, it was one of the considerations for Lucy.

I have a puppy collar and lead :inlove:

What else do I need? I have a crate, collar, lead, puppy pads (for the crate base at first, I don't plan on actually 'using' them as such), and a Nylabone. Can puppies have Nylabones?

Beautiful gorgeous doggies girls! :love::love::love:

And just for the record I don't think it matters whether you get another dog the next day or ten years from the previous pooch, you know that she will never be replaced and this little one is simply helping to heal that wound, fill in that hole, that void she left - there's absolutely nothing wrong with that :D:D:D

Just had a long chat with her foster parents Yvonne and Pierre, they seem like such nice people. They put me on speaker phone so she could hear me for the first time, and as silly as it sounds, I was so incredibly jealous when Yvonne said she had just trotted through to hear the voice and sat on her lap. She's mine!

Apparently she is a real live-wire, and very smart. She goes in her crate when she likes, and is very happy in there as long as she has her teddy bear. Foster dad suspects there IS terrier in her judging by the way she plays, but she does love playing and also loves to collect socks and slippers, and plays tug too!

She goes next door to play with next doors dogs and LOVES them. The woman can't remember their breed but apparently they are big dogs, and Daisy doesn't care! She likes to bite their tails and ankles.

She was almost bald with the mange when she arrived with them, and while her fur is coming back very well, it is still thin in places so we will buy her a coat. She also doesn't like the collar and lead, but they are getting her used to it. Oh, and she askes to go out for a wee already, she bites your trouser leg to tell you!

But best of all :D he is sending more photos tonight. I felt kind of silly asking him for more, but he said it was not a problem at all. So as soon as I get them, I will share!

I would also get a Kong as they are a great way to occupy a pup's mind and make them use their brain. I would also look into any socialisation classes near you - some vets do 'puppy parties' so might be worth asking yours.

I have Kongs for the older dogs that are hardly used as they hate them, but will definitely give puppy a go :)

No classes near me, unfortunately, otherwise we would be at those.
