I might make a butterfly mobile for my niece but it's going to be costly as I'd want to use the big sheets which are about £1 each :(
 
Colouring pencils I already had, although I hear you can use acrylic paint so I'm going to give that a go when I have some more - will report back!

I think the texture is because they're frosted shrinky dinks rather that white. They have opaque fibres throughout them which go clear when you cook it so you can see the image on both sides. Pens aren't great on the frosted ones because the fibres seem to draw the ink away from where you've put it, the pencils seemed to work well though :)

I don't think I've ever been more pleased with something I've made than I am with that necklace.

A friend bought me various shrinkles for my birthday so I've tried white and clear for the first time. The frosted are nice because you can see the image on both sides and you don't get white edges but the white are so easy to get a good result on I think I'll buy them from now on.
I couldn't get ANYTHING to stay on the clear ones, but they worked really well for the fixings on the necklace.
