I dont know it this will be of any use to those trying to cope with a case of chronic sore hocks.
First I apply a dressing pad over the sore area, I use microproe tape to secure it in the middle and elastoplast strapping at the top. I am careful to only allow absolutely minimal contact of the tape/strapping and fur
Then two rolled up dressing pads are secured above and below the ulcerated area, thus taking direct pressure off it when Lydia's foot is on the floor
Next I apply a white woven bandage followed by more elastoplast strapping. Again I make sure that the adhesive strapping has little or no contact with fur. It's also important that the entire dressing is not too tight and that it does not cut into the 'bend' in the leg
Roll on winter when Lydia's coat is thicker as she also has more fur on her poor hocks.
