  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Dylan doesn't seem quite 'right'

Rhianna

Wise Old Thumper
My 'mature' bun Dylan hasn't seemed quite right for a little while. I can't put my finger on it - he is eating (but not as voraciously), drinking and coming out of the hutch into the run with the others. He had a dental a while ago and part of an abscess removed from his side (the vet couldn't remove all of it).

I've booked him in at the vet after work today but felt a bit silly when I was asked what was wrong as there isn't anything specific. I said I wanted his teeth and the site of the abscess checked just to make sure all is OK.

I don't know how old he is as rescue weren't sure when I rehomed him but I have had him a good few years. He was brown but went grey a couple of years ago.

I just hope there is nothing seriously wrong with him so vibes for my eldest cuddle monster would be appreciated if anyone has any to spare. He needs to be fit and healthy as when I rehome Peggy and Sue if the bonding goes well he will be living with a harem of four wifebuns.
