Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Sneezing?

Lisa & Amos

Warren Scout
Hi
Belle is sneezing alot today. Weeing and pooing seems ok and shes eating normally. Is it something i should be worried about?
Amos is fine and no sneezes from him.

Is there any nasal discharge ? Check that the fur on the inside of her front paws is not sticky (from wiping discharge away).

If she is still sneezing tomorrow then a Vet check is needed. She may have the start of a Respiratory Tract Infection.

No discharge but her paws do look a little sticky. Booked in vets on Tuesday for vacinations, can it wait till then or is it more urgent?
ANything I can do in the meantime?

Thanks

I would try to get an appointment for tomorrow and you may need to postpone the vaccination as if she has an infection she cant be vaccinated.

As long as she is eating, drinking and pooing then there is not really much you can do until the Vet checks her over. If she is an indoor Bun then having the central heating on high can exacerbate upper respiratory tract problems as the hot dry atmosphere irritaes the mucus membranes in the nasal passages.

If she's outdoors just make sure her hutch is damp and draftproof and that she has alot of bedding to keep her warm. A Snugglesafe heatpad would be a good idea too if you have one.

Hi Jacks - Jane
You were right, been to the vet and its a respiratory infection  so vaccinations postponned and I have a course of baytril to give her. Teeth looked ok so hopefully its a one off and hoping Amos doesn't get it. Though since they spend all day cuddled up together I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for your advice it is much appreciated.
