  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Was just wondering what everyone uses for woming and de-fleaing and miteing ther rabbits, i use Xeno 450 spot on once a month on Bailey and have just got a syringe of the panacur wormer which i havent used yet as i need to re-weigh her, does anyone else use these two on there bunns, vet nurse said it should be fine just dont do panacur+xeno in same week...
Any thoughts appreciated! x

i dont use either with my bunnies regularly, i did give them a course of panacure once, and i've also de-flead them once when i saw a couple on Simba, i used Advantage flea drops. I have used the xeno drops on simba before as he get mites quite alot but its hard to use it well as he has long fur so he ends up all wet.
I know quite a few people on here do give their bunnies regular courses of panacur i just choose not to

i have to say i dont do either regularly, theere is controvosy in using spot on with bunyns as it can cause reactions in some cases, also unless your rabbit has fleas there is little to no benifit, you are better using rear gaurd in summer(stop fly eggs hatching i do this regularly through warmer months) and if you think your bun is likley to have or have been in contact with ec or worms do a 28day one off course unles sany syptoms show.
