You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. New Kit
Hello im a bit worried about my rabbit Rufiio! he is a 4 month old netherland dwarf rabbit who has just had 'the op' today. He is eating and drinking fine but seems to be making a constant squeaking noise (kinda like a guinea pig) is this because he is in discomfort and what can i do to help him???? ive put a towel in his cage instead of sawdust and hay as bedding and put him somewhere warm and quiet.

also!!! i have another netherland dwarf who was originally sexed as a female but we have since found out off the vet that she is a pseudo hemaphrodite and could actually be more male than female. the vet suggested we take her to have a hormone test but im concerned that the operation to get her altered will be risky. does anybody know about the procedure involved?

thank you

Hi - I'm not sure about the noises, maybe you should call your vet as he may be in pain? The towel and putting him somewhere warm and quiet will help him relax. Hope he's feeling better in the morning.

Regarding your other bunny, I'm sorry I don't know about the procedure.

hi gill,

thank u for replying. rufio seems a lot better now and the noises have stopped! i think he was just feeling a little sorry for himself :)

im taking the other one to the vets on friday to see what we are going to do with her!

xx

im glad your bunny appears ok again.
Im sure someone on here had a hermaphrodite rabbit, maybe one of the rescues, i cant remember.
I would think they can be spayed/neutered the same as a female/male rabbit but may need extra if they have both organs? The most important would be to remove the male organs so they cant have babies but would be good to have both remove. I hope your vet can advise you on this
