  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

enlarged lymph nodes

Young Bun
Hello,

Im not sure if anybody can help. I have been trawling the forums looking for information on the above but cannot find much.

I have been to the vets today as my bun had a lump on her back leg. He had a feel and found that they were enlarged lymph glands, not only were the two bag leg glands enlarged but the ones by the front legs and in the dewlap were slightly enlarged too.

The vet wasnt the usual vet I saw but said that it could be lymphoma but only a 15% chance of it being this and he didnt think there could be anything done for rabbits.

I just wondered if anybody had experience of this and whether they had gone down, or if it could be something other than a viral infection like something more going on inside the body?

I am keeping an eye on the lumps and if they get any bigger or she seems unhappy I will take her to my usual bunny vet. But at the moment she is her usual grumpy moody self!!
