  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Is this a safe site?

Ignore me, seems like I can buy fibre plex ok, and for other meds:

Pet Meds (POM-V)
Do not buy anything from this section unless you are in receipt of a veterinary prescription for any and all POM-V`s you wish to purchase. VetUK will NEVER despatch any POM-V without the original veterinary prescription being first presented to us.

What kind of other meds are you thinking of? Lots of them don't need a prescription - panacur, xeno 450 for example. :)

Does the liquid panacur require a 'script? Am going to do both buns after Crimbo for a month so its pointless getting the syringe rabbit one....

I've used this site for ivermectin before and it was fine.

No, but as timb0h said, they will ask you questions. Things like, what pets do you have, ages, intentions of medicine etc. It can vary from supplier to supplier.

If it helps, any medication listed as POM-VPS or NFA-VPS is available without prescription, but is subject to these questions and the seller has the right to refuse if they think the answers are unsatisfactory.
