missing fur from around rabbits eye! Update

powab

Warren Scout
I've come home tonight to find that Amber has fur missing from around her eye!!:shock:

Its completely gone and looks a little red, doesn't look nice at all.:cry:

Taking her to the vets in the morning to get checked out, hope it's not too serious!

Has anyone else experienced with any buns?

when blue had his problems with his tear ducts his eyes went very sore and the fur around them came off, does it look 'wet' around them?

thank you for replying. :)

It doesn't seem to be wet, and she's still very lively, not sitting quitely or withdrawn. :?

blue was still his lively self, it had been caused by his teeth groring into his tear ducts.
does the remaining fur look crispy? (poor choice of words  )

there's just one section directly under the eye that is completely missing, almost like it's been shaved off if you know what I mean? Oh dear I really do hope she is ok.

Lets hope so! :)

Its just horrible to know they may be suffering, I just can't believe how quick it came on, she was fine yesterday and i've come home from work and the poor thing is furless. :(

Easier said than done I know but try not to worry :) Rabbits who are experiencing any discomfort or pain wouldn't be acting all lively :) Take her to the vets in the morning, sending positive vibes xx

Amber's fur is starting to return bless her! She's looks alot better, something to do with a skin irriation, so the vet has given me some cream and she's responding well. Just glad she's ok.:D

Martha had a bald patch under her eye when she had snuffles, it's all grown back now. The hair just came clean away.

Yes Amber's fur just completely disappeared, but the vet reckoned it's was a skin irration maybe caused by mites? The cream has cleaned it up and at least the fur is growing back.

She looked really weird with no fur round her eye! Poor thing

can you please share the name of the medicine, an ant bit my bunny's right upper lid

can you please share the name of the medicine, an ant bit my bunny's right eye upper lid , i cleaned that part with an antiseptic water locally available here in west bengal India, it is called Suthol antiseptic liquid. The next day it was completely fine and the swelling and redness was gone, after about one week or more I am noting that the area i cleaned with the liquid is loosing fur in small clumps. i am touching that area and the fur is coming out. The fur is clumped in tiny sections in the roots and as i am moving my finger it is coming off. I am scared and we do not have proper vets here. please help
