  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Pet Remedy for Travel?

Has anyone used the Pet Remedy wipes for travel? I'm considering taking Fudge on holiday with me in the UK as I feel he'd be better with me considering all the meds he's on and syringing him water (to increase water intake), but the drive will be longer than he has been used to and he's not particularly fussed on being in the car. They look like the company is happy for bunnies to use them but with essential oils in them I'm a bit paranoid! Thanks!

I have never used sedatives. I took very long car trips with my bunny. We went on 2 journeys of 12 hours. My bunny handled it well. I took breaks in the journey sometimes. I used to drink water to him during the break. I fed him wet vegetables. I put hay in his bag. I paid attention to the volume of the music in the car. If your rabbit isn't too concerned I think don't use these handkerchiefs. But if you want to use it, be careful if it is used for rabbits or not. Also, if you are unsure, carry these handkerchiefs with you throughout the journey.

I've used the Pet Remedy spray on recommendation from a vet before and it helped my rabbit who was experiencing behavioural problems be a lot more calm :)
