    Metacam dose? Syringe feeding help

A well respected Exotics Specialist has recommended using paracetamol for pain relief for my rabbit. Although unusual it can prove beneficial in certain circumstances.

    Fenugreek crunchies

I used to give these to my buns. However one of them is prone to gut stasis, so have taken them out of his diet. He's had fewer episodes of GI stasis since. It may be a coincidence, but I don't want to take the risk.

My amazing Doughnut has gone, I've just put her to sleep

I'm sorry to hear about Doughnut, what a lovely rabbit. I know you gave her great care and she was very much loved. I've always looked out for posts about her. You say that hopefully it will get easier and I wish someone had told me this when I suffered bereavement - although it may not seem...

My rabbit thumps and then binky’s?

One of my rabbits does it when he's excited. Usually he does one thump for fun and then starts his digging / binkying/ running around. He also thumps when annoyed/ startled.

    Urine sample - clever bunny

I think she'll pee eventually, just have to be patient (and alert ready to collect it). When I have to get urine samples I find it easiest first thing when the buns are waking up (and tend to pee). Have you tried having her tray with nothing but a thin layer of hay in it? If she gets in to eat...

    Does your rabbit do this?

Hi Rosie, you may want to have a look at this on rabbit behaviour. It'll help you understand a little more about your rabbit and why he's doing the things that he does. I bought it for myself and it's a great book http://www.therabbithouse.com/behaviour/ You may find it helps if you sit...

How Do You Cope With The Worry After Losing Rabbits?

My first rabbit came from Pets at Home (adoption section). Unbeknown to me she had coccidiosis.I wasn't experienced enough to notice that something was wrong. She had a good appetite, a lovely playful nature and no problems with poops. She had also been to the vets for a health check and...

    Stasis step by step?

I agree with Tonibun, take your rabbit straight to the vet if you think they have gut stasis. We have a rabbit prone to stasis and always play it safe by going to the vet as soon as we spot signs. If you do this you can rule out any blockages, administer pain relief and gut motility drugs to...

    Insurance

It's a tricky one with insurance. Personally I have it and am so glad that I did. Last year one rabbit managed to get through £2,000 in vet bills, including around £800 on a scan. I've more than recovered my premium back. I can understand why some people think it's a waste though as you may...

    Rabbit Insurance

I use Petplan. Best thing I ever did. One rabbit managed to rack up £2,000 in vet bills last year alone. He had several bouts of gut stasis (usually during Out of Hours  so more expensive) then a referral to a rabbit specialist to carry out a range of tests to find out how to help him this...

What dried forage does your rabbit really enjoy?

The favourite at our house is good old dandelion. Recently tried Coneflower (from the HayExperts) and it's has gone down a storm. I'd not heard of it before, it smells a bit like dandelion/celery/plantain.
