    licking off ivermectin

2 weeks ago I treated all 3 rabbits with Ivermectin (anti-parsite spot on by baephar) and none of them seemed bothered by it, and didn't notice them washing it off. Now I've just re-treated Bugsy and given Bramble her first treatment, and both of them seemed to have got their heads 360 like an...

    Introducing Bramble

After Bugsy lost his 3rd wife last week I felt that he needed a new wife sooner rather than later (I'm going to have to change his name to King Henry the 8th I think!) So he was introduced to a new female this afternoon.. Quite a bit of back to front humping by the female, which Bugsy wasn't...

    Violet

I haven't been here for a while due to illness, but wanted to say goodbye to my precious Violet who I adopted from the RSPCA only 8 months ago, to be 3rd wife to Bugsy after I lost Chloe last year. I took her to Mark at Trinity vets last night, thinking she was just needing a dental as she'd...

    Jenson (previously Smokey)

I haven't taken many photos of Jenson since I got him from the RSPCA last year http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/showthread.php?386717-Off-to-get-my-new-rescue-bun-Jenson-%28formerly-Smokey%29-%29-UPDATE-pics-post-6/page4&highlight=smokey, but here is a couple of pictures of him in his favourite...

    Introducing Violet

I haven't been around for a while, but I'm back now and happy to introduce my newest RSPCA bun Violet who had spent 5 years living in a cage in a flat, and was very cage agressive and human aggressive. The RSPCA had been working with her so that she wasn't as aggressive to humans, and were...

Not sure if it's too soon to get Poppy a new friend.

Iv'e been thinking Poppy looks sad and lonely. She has always been a quiet relaxed bun, but I think she is even quiter now she doesn't have Pebbles to groom and lay down with. So.....I just went to the RSPCA near me and looked at their two male single buns. One is a brown lop but he came in...

I've just recieved a condolence card from my vets...

A lovely card hand written saying " All of our thoughts are with you for the very sad loss of Pebbles" I don't know how to express how I feel at the moment...it is such a lovely thing to do ...I certainly didn't expect it. Is it usual for vets to send condolence cards for the loss of a bun, or...

I know this is going to be hard to write as I still miss you very much  One day I had a phone call from my friend..her neighbour had gone on holiday to Scotland and left you behind in a hutch in the kitchen with cheap teso basics muesli, and sawdust as bedding. My friend went to feed you...

Pebbles is getting worse :( update...helped to the bridge 16/4/13 :(

Although Pebble's cough has improved, he is hardly eating anything now, despite being on gut stimulant twice a day and a higher dose of metacam. He seem so unhappy, and runs when I go near him as he thinks I'm going to give him more meds by syringe which he hates  I'm sure he thinks I'm...

Thanks to everyone who recommended Trinity..Great news on Pebbles...he's eating!

And he has just eaten a whole dandelion flower, a huge pile of dandelion leaves and carrot tops!!! He didn't stop, and showed no signs of struggling and no coughing! :thumb::thumb::thumb:He is a changed bunny from Wednesday night when he could hardly eat a single leaf and started coughing...

Difference between Science Recovery, critical care and mashed up normal ss pellets??

Just curious, as apart from ease of syringe feeding...if you werent syringe feeding, is there any difference between feeding Science Recovery or Critical care instead of mashed up high fibre science selective pellets when feeding from a bowl? I'm guessing that Critical care and Science Recovery...

Buying long term prescription meds online....any good, reputable companies?

As I have found out Pebbles has a congestive heart condition, and will be on meds for the rest of his life, I am looking into getting his precription meds online to save costs. I am very wary about buying online..eg. are the tablets what they say they are (heard too many stories about fake...

Pebble's showing new symptoms of coughing :(

Yesterday I cancelled his scheduled GA for Friday as he had finally started eating carrot, cabbage and coriander after 3 weeks on metacam since dental. I thought we were making progress but unfortnately he has now started making coughing noises while eating and shaking his head violently so his...

Psychological reasons for not bunny eating?

Firstly, Pebbles is booked in for GA tomorrow to check his mouth again, and is being referred to specialist vet at Trinity, Maidstone. He has been on metacam for nearly 3 weeks since last dental under GA and will eat dry pellets (60g a day at the moment) but is still unable to eat dandelions...

Looking for a Rabbit Dental Specialist in Kent

Does anyone know a good rabbit dental specialist in Kent? Preferably one with a lot of experience in taking molars out. I have yet to phone Trinity (at Maidstone) to ask them, but their website doesn't say anything about them specialising in bunny dentistry. Thanks.

    Bunny theme tea party

While looking for photos to inspire my brother (aspiring photographer) on the sort of bunny photos I want, I found this and had to share....I'm sure it has been seen before, but I thought it was lovely! http://mysmallpotatoes.com/2012/05/21/the-velveteen-rabbit-a-happy-birthday-tea-party/ By...

How many of you have had successful molar removal (or unsuccessful)?

Following up from previous thread about Pebble's ongoing molar dental problems and suggestion of molar extraction, how many of you have had a bun go through this procedure? Was it successful or unsuccessful and where did the procedure take place? i.e. was it with a dental specialist? And...

    Dilemma....feeding a dental bun & maintaining bond

So I now have Pebbles eating dry pellets after a week, having had dental. He doesn't eat hay (hasn't done in 3 years apart from odd nibble) and unlikely to eat hay, so he needs constant access to pellets 24/7 to maintain his gut movement and keep his molars down for as long as possible...
