    Snuffles Protocol

My 10 year old bunny went to the vet last week as he sneezed white mucus on me (and has had leaky eyes but everything was fine with them on x-rays and a CT scan earlier in 2023 so has had the tear ducts flushed since). His usual vet (rabbit specialist) wasn't in, so he will see her later this...

    Paracetamol Suspension?

My 10 year old bun has paracetamol suspension (6 years+) alongside Meloxicam for arthritis as he has kidney disease so not to have the Meloxicam dose so high. He's been on it maybe 2 years, 3x per day. He has a rabbit specialist vet.

Gi Stasis first timer and I'm worried sick 😭

For some reason I can’t see the rest of the thread to read any updates, but just wanted to pass you on this video (actually a page of resources), but there’s specifically a video on gut Statis that’s really helpful. https://supremepetfoods.com/vet-zone/cpd-webinars-and-videos/

    Recommendations on experienced rabbit vet

Fudge usually sees Molly Varga but unfortunately she’s not in right now. His appointment I wanted earlier in the first place (but she wasn’t in) was moved to Monday but I’m not sure if he’ll be able to wait til then (he needs his ears flushed as gets a wax build up) as it’s started to really...

    Sore Hock Socks

Yes already tried unstitching a few, will have to try more. I didn’t even attempt to get the back but over, I was still having trouble getting them over the middle of the foot 😬

Base of ear lump - waxy buildup suggested

Fudge had what was diagnosed as ear mites by local vet treated but kept itching. Took him to Molly Varga as local vet were rubbish with getting tests back. She felt a lump in his ear, did a CT scan and found was a wax build up. She flushed them regularly and now we use Tris-Nac daily to keep...

    Sore Hock Socks

I bought 3 pairs and can’t get them on despite being made to his measurements. I’m too scared to force them in case I break his ankle etc. if you’re going to have them made consider the measurements being loose enough.

    Transfer of diseases/infections/mites

I’m currently away on a long holiday and helped out in a rabbit rescue and am supposed to be doing again next Wednesday then fly home on Sunday (when I’ll see my own bunny Monday). These rabbits were abandoned and have breed. Some have coccidiosis, one has visible ear mites and there was a...

    Pet Remedy for Travel?

Has anyone used the Pet Remedy wipes for travel? I'm considering taking Fudge on holiday with me in the UK as I feel he'd be better with me considering all the meds he's on and syringing him water (to increase water intake), but the drive will be longer than he has been used to and he's not...

    Abscess in front paw

I took Fudge to my local vets yesterday as was concerned about a scabby lump on top Fudge's paw where it looked like he had lost some fur. Between the 2 end nails didn't look quite the same as the other paw. I delayed taking him for a few days after found it as the vets said they were only...

Pellets for bun with kidney disease

Thanks, giving him lots of wet food, but it means he stops eating hay and grass, so I'm concerned about his gut and teeth - seems like a catch 22!

What could it be? UPDATE: Kidney disease

Just for anyone going through the same thing, this article was helpful - http://www.therabbithouse.com/diet/diet-lowcalcium.asp#changeweight

Pellets for bun with kidney disease

The Vetcare Plus Urinary Tract pellets arrived today, Fudge bunny is not impressed with them! He ate a third of his stick and then just left the rest. On the plus side I found that Waitrose sell Deeside water which from what I've found is very low calcium water (lower than Tesco at 4mg/l), so...
