Liquid form of ranitidine - anyone able to still get hold of it?

as far as I know it’s only the liquid version that has been recalled so it is still available in other forms.

Liquid form of ranitidine - anyone able to still get hold of it?

We had this problem too - our vets have instead prescribe it in tablet form and we dissolve each tablet in some water before then giving via syringe. I think the dosing is slightly different as our prescription went from liquid three times a day to one tablet twice a day. Dusty has been...

Cheaper and better alternative to critical care sachets

We’ve been using this for a few years now - I find it much easier to syringe than critical care (and much cheaper!)

    Bladder flushing..

Dusty has been taking cystaid since February - alongside potassium citrate. We have found it very helpful!

    Bladder flushing..

Our vet thinks dusty does this because her repeated sludge issues have caused an irritation of her bladder (cystitis). And if you’ve ever had cystitis you’ll know you feel like you need to pee all the time but you only do dribbles

    Bladder flushing..

I can finish now! Since we started the cystaid and potassium citrate she has only one episode of what we think was uti. A urine sample tested positive for ecoli but it needed a specific antibiotic that proved hard to get hold of. And by the time we did, her symptoms had resolved and a further...

    Bladder flushing..

Hi graciee I’ve been meaning to post on this thread for such a long time (I did once and then it was lost by my phone and I never got chance to start again)! One of current bunnies (Dusty) suffers with sludge and we have been on a very long journey the last 18 months or so! I am by no means a...

Where can I get potassium citrate? D:

We didn’t notice an affect straight away, it took a few months to really notice any difference but she also started some other meds at the same time so it’s hard to know exactly what made her better. We took her to a specialist and they suggested that her recurrent sludge was causing an...

Where can I get potassium citrate? D:

I use the same one linked by Jacks Jane for my bun with sludge.......(I only discovered you can buy it only after my vet had charged me in the double figures for a bottle that cost £3 online!). They sell the same bottle on amazon too :) your vet can calculate the dose for liquid version for you...

Liver ultrasound - usual vet or specialist

Thank you for replies. My vets are going to call CJ hall to discuss her case and then we are going to decide later after that discussion

Liver ultrasound - usual vet or specialist

It’s about half an hour each way by car - so not exactly a terrible journey, however she is obviously still not quite 100% (although vet says fit to travel if needed) I wouldn’t want to put her through a stressful car journey if it was reasonable to have our local vets do it if you see what I...

Liver ultrasound - usual vet or specialist

Morning everyone Dusty is currently an inpatient with our usual vets after a nasty UTI and subsequent gi stais (inpatient since Monday) Her blood results this morning have shown raised liver enzyme ALT (616, higher end ofnormal range is 60) and our vet has suggested a liver ultrasound to...
