Wanda had her stitches and staples removed this morning. No sooner was she home and she started tugging at the scar where her mammary lump was removed and has made it bleed. Unfortunately it is in a very accessible place under her armpit. For the past week I have had her wrapped in an old...
Thanks everyone. She weighs about 3.3kg. I think 4ml dail y is a big big dose and Iam glad I didnt put anothrr 2ml in her saturday when I saw the effects of the first 2ml. I did some calcs and I worked out that .60 to .70ml would have been sufficient twicr daily not 2ml. That is alot of...
On Sat night Wanda went into stasis after having given her 2ml of metacam prescribed by vet. Nearly lost her Sat night but was up half the night feeding her critical care, syringing water in and gently massaging tum. By the morn she had come through. A friends daughter who is a vet nurse said...
In the end I rigged up part of an old thick knee support bandage and put it over the stringy stretchy vest the vet gave me and then another stretchy vest over that and then taped it up securely. Everything else she has managed to rip off within mins. She has given up now. Took her for a post op...
Sending strong healing vibes your way and hope yor baby is better soon. So worrying when they are ill. Going through this myself too with bun recovering after op. It is very stressful. Sounds like you are doing everything you can and hopefully he will recover v soon
I didnt think about securing with tape. Where do I get vet wrap? Will my petshop sell it? The stringy stretchy vest keeps riding up and have to keep pulling it down but I could tape it into place. I havent been able to get out of the house to get tshirt and my husb working away so will try and...
No its dog. Asked vet abt it and its their policy to start high dose to get on top of pain and then reduce. Apparently rabs can tolerate v high doses of metacam. Reassured now as was worried. Main prob - gettin it in her. She hates the taste.
My normal vet is 5 mins away and the exotic specialist is 20mins or 30 in rush hour. It was a pain today when I had sn emrrgency and didnt have transport but you want someone good who understands EC
Thanks Roger rabbit. How did you secure it on her? Did her front legs go through the arm holes and head through the neckhole? Sorry to sound so thick but i am the least practical person in the world. I am so worried about this going on forever, with Wanda keep pulling stitches out and it...
Wanda chewed a stitch out of her big mammary lump wound. She has a little string vest thing on but didnt offer much protection. She has been stapled at vets but i know they can get them out too. I was chatting with Steph who has had Lola spayed and she is having similar probs and now has a...
I think Wandas tum was a bit upset but during the night she recovered and ate and pooped well.
