Lillie is back with us after 2 nights at the vets. She stopped eating suddenly on Sunday and her poos became very sloppy. She had an ultrasound scan whilst sedated on Monday as the vet was concerned about how full her abdomen felt. Her molars were not too bad with only a small amount of filing needed.
Satisfied with her progress he discharged her yesterday and suggested we syringe feed her with food and bio-lapsis solution. She is eating greens & hay in small amounts and has passed quite a few hard poos in the night although they are quite small compared to normal. I managed to syringe her some bio-lapsis solution this morning which she drank freely but she also got quite upset – lots of teeth grinding and biting / scratching at my clothing – so I decided not to stress her further by giving her food this way.
She is back with Trooper for the day but I will separate them again tonight so she can be monitored. I intend to avoid syringe feeding her as long as she continues to eat greens and hay and her poos increase in quantity / size. Does this sound ok or is there something else I should be doing?

If she is eating greens and hay and you monitor she should be fine.Syringe feeding causes mine to be upset and stressed.
Hope she continues being well:D

I agree with Becca. I'd also be inclined to keep her cage-mate with her, he will help her get better because he will comfort her.

If she is eating a bit on her own, then I wouldn't be too worried, it takes a little while for them to get over GI Stasis anyway.

Hope she gets loads better soon.
