  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

What is Infacol?

Its for babies to help them break wind etc.

It helps bunnies when they have bloat, helps break up all the wind, which will help them to poo x

You get it from any main supermarket in the baby section.

I noticed Pringles as he sat all hunched up and wouldnt eat, move around and he didnt poo. Its when they really stop poo'ing and eating/moving i think you have to worry. Also their tummy can be really rumbly and feel different all squidgey. Best to see a vet first though to confirm it is bloat if your not sure, they will then give the bun medication and infachol helps move things along, same with gentle tummy rubs x

As above, but also mine was breaking wind too, I don't think infacol can do much harm (please correct me I am wrong). It just helps things along a bit and makes bun more comfortable, along with tummy rubs. The first sign I had of bloat was bun off her food (very unusual!) :)

Yes our rabbit stopped eating food and pooing. I phoned the vet today to see if i can give him anything else to help and they had never heard of giving infacol to a rabbit.

There is no evidence Infacol works in human infants, in fact many paediatricians and gastroenterologists hate it!

I certainly wouldn't expect it to work any better in rabbits
