Quick Question about Baytril

My sister in law has been prescribed Baytril for her bun with Urine Scald but shes quite worried by the dose the vet said to give. 1ml for a 2kg bun for 5 days.

I've never had that amount prescribed - i thought it should be about 0.2ml?? Does anyone know the recommended dose? A quick google seach brought up 5ml/50kg which is 0.25ml per 2.5kg - which seems more normal in my experience?

The dose for ORAL Baytril is 10mg/kg every 12 hours

If its the 2.5% Oral Baytril then that means 1ml = 25mg

A 2kg Bun would need a dose of 20mg Baytril every 12 hours which is 0.8ml every 12 hours

Thanks Jane. So 1ml is a little over, but ok. Just I was sure I've been given tiny doses compared to that.
