my god today i notice a house rabbit in pet at home u know what the cost was £150 for 1 rabbit it look like a 6 month old rabbit but it 10 week old, and they only live up to over6 years spam.
is graint house rabbit worth the money or better having a nornal size rabbit??? it be great to have one but the cost no chance i need a big hut for him when it grow up!!!
would anyone get one???

Giants are specialist rabbits as they need a lot of space to run about in.

While that may seem expensive for a rabbit it is more inline with the cost of keeping one and hopefully prevents buying on impulse.

I also *think* the price includes neutering for giants.

I think they cost that much to try and stop people just buying them because they see them in there, giant rabbits need more space than smaller rabbits. And to be honest lots of people cant even provide smaller rabbits with enough space so I think its a good thing they cost that much. The giant bunnies in pet shops over here cost £79 but they dont neuter them.

it deters people from buying them for thier kids. its responsible pet selling to a certain extent. personally, i would not keep giants, but there are many excellent giant keepers on here...

i just like ickle cute ones lol x

I think Pets At Home is a good and responsible pet shop.

maybe some the one by me has very nice knowledgeable staff and animals are kept nice and they nearly refused to sell me a goldfish until i explained i had already had the tank set up.

but ive been to some horrible ones, smelly cages, rabbits an guinea pigs together, dead fish. depends on the store and its manager i guess.

Oh I didn't realise they differed. The one near me keeps the animals clean and in large accomodation. However, the staff always seems to be on a tea break...

Pets at Home in Oldham

My local Pets at Home is brilliant. When you buy a rabbit from them, you get a free health check at the in store Vet. They also separate males and females and have high enough screens that children can't poke their fingers over them. There are mesh windows so that they can watch them though:D

Also this summmer they are offering sessions for cyhildren - 1 or 2 at a time - to learn how to look after the animals in there - cleaning them out, feeding them etc., - They also tell them which only come out at night and so on.

It seems pretty responsible.

well i do suppose they differ because the one near us they never hold their animals - asked how much they were held when i was looking for a hammie and they said oh well we don't genearlly hold any of our animals here because otherwise they would get to attached to us

Mine is good also but not that good, it would be nice if they were all as good as that one.
