hi all,ive been given two baby bunnies by my neighbour today.he thought they were about 6wks old so has gotten rid of mum.they are about 3wks old if your lucky so rang my vet and shes told me to give them cow and gate step up milk.the only trouble was she didnt tell me how much and how often.gave them both 2ml each tonight and they couldnt get it quick enough.(mum went yesterday morning).obviously hungry.so what i want to know is how many times a day should i feed them and is 2ml too much?they are nibbling at solids aswell.any advice would be great.dont blame my neighbours too much cuz rabbit had babies underground and theyve only just found them.soo cute.ones agouti and ones agouti and white.both girls.mums a dwarf lop and dads a dutch.xxxx

As far as I know they need goats milk, a tummy rub after each feed till they poop and wee and if they don't toilet then feed them again after a couple of hours. Overfeeding kills them - Underfeeding kills them - they are unlikely to survive but there's a slim chance - definitely don't feed them human baby milk as it's not rich enough - kitten formula from the vet would be better - maybe your vet doesn't know much about rabbits?

oh right.shes a rabbit specialist.very very highly recommended.they wee n poo on their own but gave them a tummy rub anyway.x

At three weeks they will probably drink straight from a bowl if they were keen for it. They should take about 5ml+ each per feed and 3-4 feeds per day. Also give probiotics (e.g. fibreplex). They'll also be eating hay.

Can you get any KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer) milk? They seem to do quite well on that and my vets recommended it.
