Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hi how much pineapple juice do you give to the bunnies and do you water it down or give it as it is

thanks

Aww sazzy your bunnies are gorgeous, especially the one in the middle he looks like thumper from bambi! lol.

Mine won't drink pineapple juice but they love getting their pineapple & papaya tablets - they think its a treat and have no idea its so good for their tummy to get rid of fur balls!!:D

Pineapple Juice is not really much good for Bunnies ;) If you are thinking of giving it to help break down fur in the guts then Fresh Pineapple is needed. The enzyme that is in the stem of Fresh Pineapple that can help break down ingested fur (Bromelain) is virtually non-existant in Pineapple Juice unless you make it yourself from a Fresh Pineapple.

You can buy Bromelain Tablets from Health Food Stores

Janex :D

Hi thanks for the replies i can't do fresh pineapple as i'm allergic to pineapple plus daisy and maisy won't touch anything like that so i brought some fresh pineapple juice as i can put it in a syringe for them so i haven't got to touch it

i use bromelain for all of mine and they will just take them as treats dont even have to crush them is helping so much with their severe moults at the moment

I've used bought pineapple juice before for gut stasis twice, it worked fine. But I would only use it on seeing symptoms. It's full of sugar, not very good for bunnies' teeth! Helen
