Baby Bun Drinking a lot??

Hi all

I have brought a bew bunny this week, Tuesday. He's a Lionhead and English cross and is 15 wks old. The only thing I am a little concerned about is he seems to be drinking quite a bit - well more than Molly does. But Molly has fresh veggies daily whereas I am just gradually introducing new bun to small amount of fresh as he's not used to it yet. Could it be Molly is getting more liquids from her veggies than little one? His behaviour and poo's are normal. He's a lovely little character with soft thick fur and has already got used to when feed times are lol I will go and read how to upload pics and show them both to you all soon.

Baby rabbits do tend to drink a lot and not getting any rehydration from veggies also increases the need for water.

If all else is fine I dont think you have a need to worry. :D

I would recommend worming him. You will prob find the excessive drinking stops if you do this. Follow dosage for kittens on liquid panacur (you can order online), or ask your vet for new rabbit panacur and they will tell you the dosage. Helen

Hi, Thanks for the replies. Sorry it has taken so long to respond, I had an aunt die so had the funeral and everything going on :(

Bunny, Jasper, is doing great. The drinking seemed to slow itself down after the first couple of days and seems normal now. He is enjoying his veggies and hay and settling in really well :D

Thanks again, Clare
