In the winter i used straw as bedding for Bert...he used to sit there an eat it. Now he won't eat the expensive timothy hay i have bought.
I'm guessing it's the chewing action that keeps buns teeth in good shape?
So technically hew could eat straw instead of hay if he wanted?
He is fed on Science Selective.

Straw does not have the nutritional value of hay, so it is important that hay is provided. Some buns are just fussy, and you might want to try a few varieties of hay to find out which your bun likes. Mine are really keen on oat hay at the mo. You can get a great sample pack of hays from the The Hay Experts website

I have bought the samples before, he eats them all (inc the timothy hay one!) but won't eat it in bulk.
I think he just likes ripping the bag up to get the hay out!

I'm off to buy more samples................

I'm suprised he won't eat the timmy hay - it's very stalky and chewy like straw
