Mama Doe
Seeing as today I passed my RSPCA home check [yay! ^^] it looks as though we shall be adopting a little girlie in the nextfew weeks... She needs to be spayed before she can be rehomed, and they shall book her in for this either this week, but most likely it will be next week. And then I'm not sure how long they'll keep her before she can come home... Does anyone know how long a doe can take before she is healed from being spayed?
Anyway! She will not have been vaccinated against either myxi or VHD. Which means I shall have to see to this - it doesn't bother me at all. However, it means she won't be mixing with my Barney boy until both are complete. It IS safe for her to be in a hutch near to his though, won't it? And is there any amount of time that should pass between her being spayed and her being vaccinated? I was wondering, because if she's stressed and has lower immunity due to spaying, would a vaccine be safe? I ask this because I was considering getting her vaccinated against myxi perhaps on the way home from picking her up... Anyone got any advice?
