The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. How do I give a bunny tummy rub?

Can someone tell me how to do a proper bunny tummy rub?
I can't seen to find a link on this. But I have read that you can do more harm than good if it's not done correctly. My Smeagol seems to be having some gas problems the last two days.:( I tried 3 different stores for Infacol, but no one had it, so I ended up getting another infant tummy medicine. She seems to be doing much better today.:) I wanted to try the tummy rub, but wasn't sure how, and didn't want to cause her further discomfort. If someone could give instructions or post a link, it would be most appreciated.
Thanks!

I think as long as you're gentle it won't harm but generally I tried to put my hand underneath her around about the middle and gently massage and kind of vibrate my hand. I have heard that if you use a vibrating object  its really good for getting rid of gassy tums. It also helps to slightly lift up their bum to help the bubbles pass.

Hi

I believe its just a gentle circular motion, apply a little pressure (but not much) to the skin and it has just as much a soothing affect as anything else, often I think it helps relieve some discomfort and sooth the rabbit rather than dislodge the gas/blockage.

I use a slow circular motion. I find it really starts to get things moving if the gut is sluggish. :) Works on humans too!

Many thanks to everyone! My Smeagol is back to being her regular pain in the buns self again, Thank goodness!:rabbit2:

I'm not sure about buns but if you massage human stomachs you must always go in a clockwise direction (according to my friend who is training to be a physio), not sure if that applies to buns as well.
