Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Heat pad

Bee

New Kit
I recently bought a heat pad for my bunny and he won't go near it except to scratch it's cover. I'm desperate in trying to keep him warm, even though he lives inside it can get quite cold. Is there a way of making it more enticing, or is he perhaps not cold..?

Any suggestions would be great :)

how cold is cold? Buns are better with cold that heat. If he is in a house I don't think it would ever get cold enough to need a heat pad unless he was in a garage or he was ill.

Well it can get down to 4C at night and my home doesn't seem to keep heat very well. But if he's better with cold than heat that's good. The warmth is there if he needs it :)

If you get him a bunnyfriend you won't have to worry as they'll keep each other snuggly toasty warm when nec.;)

I'd love to get him a bunnyfriend but he's still young and I need him to be neutered or to otherwise get another male... I'm also worried about bonding. I'm giving it a great deal of thought though :)
