Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Dusty - treated for EC now has head tilt??

My 2 have had a fair amount of Panacur, as it seemed to take more than the standard 28 days to eradicate the E Cuniculi. Well, neither of them has ever shown any signs of a head tilt but, today I have noticed that Dusty seems to have a slight head tilt.

So I am thinking, does this mean the EC is back yet again, or is it just a sign of damage from it? They were only at the vets yesterday. :( :( :( Vet thought (as I did) Dusty was doing quite well, and it is Clover who isn't, and is being given another 9 days of Panacur.

Sorry to hear things are still tough. My Marcy's head is tilted, interestingly more noticeable now than before, not massively tilted, just mild. I chose not to treat her again with the Panacur at present though I am on my guard. Looking back, it is far more tilted following treatment than after it. Some buns have ongoing problems from the EC such as head tilt and a bit of incontinence. But I understand that your predicament is that Dusty now has a tilt rather than having it before. I suppose Marcy is the same. Not sure really, maybe see how he is over the next few days.

Is Clover still battling stasis Sarah?

Thanks Fiona. My heart sank when I noticed it this evening. :( Clover has to have another 9 days of Panacur, so I'm tempted to do the same with Dusty.

Clover's not too bad today - a bit off yesterday, but good today. I have brought them inside now, so I can watch them all the time, and they are getting so much exercise. They spend their whole time charging up and down the stairs!
