  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Dentals with a GA- health effects?

*If* Audrey needed to start having dentals (every two months) with a GA how would this affect her health please? Would this reduce her life span?

dentals with ga.s -health affects

ive got 3 bunnies which are permanent at eastbourne rabbit rescue they need dentals every 3 months my vets told me providing they are healthy fed a good diet etc it should not effect their health in any way and it shouldnt shorten their lifespan either but every vet is different and gives a different opinion the 3 ive got have bn with me a year and have had 4 dentals so far they are ever such happy bunsters and have not shown any other problems by havin dentals so often several members on here have vets that do it without GA that may be worth looking into :) :)

Thank you!

Bunnyrun thanks for that info, my current vet does it without a GA, but I will eventually be leaving this area so just considering the implications for Audrey really.

I posted a similar thread a few months ago and the general consensus was possible liver damage and a shortening of lifespan, also I think someone said the risk increased with each one :?

Il see if I can find it.

Read that now thanks.

What will I do if I end up living somewhere where they will only do it by GA? I don't have a car even to travel to another vets :?
