For those whose bunny passed away due to cancer, did the pellet diet change?

Happy Hopping

During their final months before they passed away, did they drink water daily?

My last bunny, Little Happy, didn't drink any water for 7.5 mth. Everyday, it's sub-Q fluid injection. And I'm now seeing the same pattern w/ my current bunny Goofball. But talking to vet that is exotic pet specialist and a vet nurse of another clinic, both said there is correlation between not drinking water and cancer.

========= EDIT ================

what about diet:

1) When did the pellet diet drops?

2) when did the bunny treat diet drops?

Tinkerbelle, who I sadly lost to uterine cancer a couple of months ago was a voracious water drinker - she got through several bottles worth each week - often a couple a day.

That is one thing that I've noticed with my new buns May and Barley, even with two of them the water consumption is lower. :)

To be honest it was very sporadic with my bun. One day she would appear to drink nothing, then the next day the bottle would be empty.

That is so odd. It's the Catch 22. If I don't give her Sub Q, and she refuses to drink, well, you can guess the outcome.

If I do give her the Sub Q, and turns out she could drink on her own, then she's not going to do because she don't need to.

Anyhoo, so happened that as of yesterday, I switch to a different brand of black berry, which is extremely juicy. I can get 66 ml out of 170 g of it, whereas in the other brand, I only get 25 to 30 ml. So that in combo w/ pineapple juice, among other liquid is more than enough to come up w/ 100 ml per day, which is what she needs.

Whjen we first got Pippa our tumour bun she didnt drink at all for nearly 5 weeks.....we later realised that 1. she was on a pure veg diet to lose weight so got extra fluid that way and 2. Was drinking from the dog bowl

She had us so worried too!

I forgot something:

what about diet:
1) When did the pellet diet drops?
2) when did the bunny treat diet drops?

Are we talking about days, or weeks? The only experience I have was my last bunny, Little Happy, in which he passed away on liver cancer. And his diet was excellent until 24 hours before he passed away.
