You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Male neutered rabbit still active!

Hi all

I had my 1 year old male rabbit (Sonny) neutered 3 months ago and he still has the occasional moment of being horny with my other bunny!
I adopted him from someone who couldn't look after him properly and he's really thrived since bonding with my 3 year old female (Lulu) but I've noticed that he still tries it on with her when he gets the feeling for it  ...do you think the operation failed or can some of the hormones still remain???
Thanks xx

I have 4 girls living together, and you should have seen Primrose with Zinniea this evening  It's not about sex though, it's about dominance, although if the weather's spring-like it does seem to make them a bit frisky :)

All my boys are neutered and are still at it.... well..... like rabbits really!  Some days more than others, but Spring is deffinitely a more active time.:D

Rabbit's mount for two reason:

1. to make babies
2. to indicate dominance over another rabbit

Neutering removes the urge/ability to do the first but the second still happens (although usually not as common). It's not unusual for females to mount other rabbits for reason number 2 either as Elve says :)

Thanks everyone, I thought it was strange thats all as my previous male rabbit never had the urge once he'd been neutered!!
