  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I was handling Kitt before, and when I went to put her back in the hutch she leapt out of my grasp and managed to knock her head before she got to the floor... she was, roughly, 2 foot away from the hutch... her behaviour straight afterwards was normal, but then my partner noticed some runny poo's... not diarheao... so we bathed her bottom and dried her, and she is being really REALLY sulky - which is totally out of character for her.

Any advice??

Is she still behaving normally? Is she eating well? Is her balance okay? Is she hopping around okay? If all of these things can be answered Yes, then she is probably just a bit shocked. Having a bad shock or bump can give them a bit of a digestive upset too.....and her sulking might well just be another aspect of the shock. Hopefully she will be right as rain tomorrow. If she isn't, you might want to have a word with your vet to be sure.:)

She seems to be behaving normally now... she's eaten some of the hay we've put in, and she's just had a drink =] Phew... I'm just so worried because of what happened to my last baby, Chloe, I just want to make sure everything is right this time xx
